Melissa, of MQ Photography was more than happy to share this Real Southern Wedding with us! We immediately fell in love with the bride’s dress with removable lace straps and the fabulous butter yellow bridesmaids dresses. We gushed over the bouquet bridal bouquet with light pink peonies and feathers and we were so excited when Melissa allowed us to share her beautiful images of this New Orleans wedding with you.  Melissa had this to say about the wedding:

“Lindsay and Ross both started their wedding day, surrounded by friends and family, while getting dressed in separate suites at the Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter.  Lindsay was very calm and very happy when I got there.  She was enjoying her bridesmaids and some laughs.  The hair and makeup was perfect and elegant on all of the ladies.  Her make-up was done by Kellie Bode.  Ross enjoyed hanging with his groomsmen while preparing for the big day.  The difference is always amazing between the girls’ room and the guys’ room.  It’s just such a different feel. There is so much giddiness and excitement in the bridal suite and a laid back atmosphere for the guys.  For Lindsays’ bridal suite, it was exactly that – giddiness, smiling, excitement, laughter and anxious to get the wedding day moving.  Plus, we have the make-up time, the getting dressed moments and, of course, seeing the bouquets arrive!  Her flowers were done by Meade Wenzel and I just loved the bouquet.  We have so much girly stuff going on in the bridal suite! I also loved seeing the relationships between all of the girls and the close relationship Lindsay shares with her mom.  It’s a special bond and you can see it.

The ceremony was held in a beautiful, old church on St. Charles Avenue.  Zion Lutheran Church was small, quaint and flooded with light at sunset.  It made for a beautiful backdrop for Lindsay and Ross to exchange their vows and rings in front of friends and family.  From the ceremony, they headed to the reception held at The Elms Mansion on St. Charles Avenue.  Elms Mansion is always a wonderful venue to be at – from the service, the food and the atmosphere – and the staff always ensures a perfect reception for their couples.  And, as always, they delivered.  I think their friends and guests were enjoying it all.  They had After 8 band outside entertaining the guests, plus a cigar bar rolling cigars for guests to enjoy and Dr. Jazz inside playing some jazz for the bar area.  All around fun and sophistication and entertainment.”

Congratulations Lindsay and Ross!  Thank you for sharing your wedding with us!

Amy, of Amy Daring Photography was so excited to share this ‘barn chic’ Real Southern Wedding with us! She had this to say about the couple:

“After lots of meetings, phone calls and the bridal portraits, April 16th came way too soon! The day started with brunch for the girls at the barn with mimosas and laughter. Brunch was immediately followed by a salon day for the girls and a relaxed day for the guys. Right before the bride and her maids arrived at the church for photos, it looked as if the bottom of the sky had fallen out! It rained for about half an hour and then we didn’t see a drop of rain after. The traditional ceremony was beautiful and went perfectly. The bride and groom rode to the reception site in a bright orange 1968 Camaro. Malphrus Plantation offered a beautiful backdrop for the remainder of the evening. Shoes were kicked off and the guests enjoyed gumbo and karaoke. Shelby and Darrell danced the night away.”
