How often the ‘I’ of Roy G. Biv goes ignored.  Today we choose to give him his day in the sun! Indigo is not only a beautiful color but has been grown as a crop in the Southeastern United States since colonial times.

We think blueberries are more indigo than actually blue and we think they look great simply placed atop this classic white cake.  The blueberry mojito not only keeps the color scheme going but sounds absolutely delicious! The indigo escort cards mixed with other shades of blue is fun and aesthetically pleasing.  This Jenny Yoo bridesmaids dress is stunning and would look so sharp next to this navy suit and the orange tie adds such a great pop of color!

Indigo invitations looks stunning with addresses written in white ink calligraphy. Indigo accents and floral designs on these imitation Ming plates and bud vases would look fabulous when placed on tables and mixed with these navy bud vases as well. A bride and her maids would look stunning with  these Max and Chloe earrings and guests can keep cool with these indigo fans that could even be personalized.

It is so important for everyone to acknowledge their roots and their individual culture, but living in the USA we should be grateful for our opportunity and freedoms and acknowledge that we are first and foremast American. The Fourth of July is one of our favorite holidays because everyone puts asides their differences to celebrate our country together.

While it might seem cheesy to some to have a Patriotic themed wedding, if executed correctly it can truly be a beautiful and memorable event.  Here’s our take: The groomsmen could wear seersucker or if they serve our country-their dashing uniforms of course!  The bridesmaids could wear these adorable red and white seersucker dresses by Judith March. We can not even handle how cute these little shoes by Mud Pie would be on the littlest attendants! We would keep our flowers simple and white as there would be so much color with the other decor. For a fun touch we would make bunting to hang in the venue using the above pattern from Martha Stewart Living. We love these burger sliders as a passed hors d’oeuvres. There are so many delicious and simple desserts that you could make yourself including white chocolate covered strawberries with blue sugartiered cupcakes in shades of red, white and blue or truly wow your guests with this American flag cake!  And of course – a sparkler exit at the end!

God Bless You

& God Bless the USA!
