How often the ‘I’ of Roy G. Biv goes ignored.  Today we choose to give him his day in the sun! Indigo is not only a beautiful color but has been grown as a crop in the Southeastern United States since colonial times.

We think blueberries are more indigo than actually blue and we think they look great simply placed atop this classic white cake.  The blueberry mojito not only keeps the color scheme going but sounds absolutely delicious! The indigo escort cards mixed with other shades of blue is fun and aesthetically pleasing.  This Jenny Yoo bridesmaids dress is stunning and would look so sharp next to this navy suit and the orange tie adds such a great pop of color!

Indigo invitations looks stunning with addresses written in white ink calligraphy. Indigo accents and floral designs on these imitation Ming plates and bud vases would look fabulous when placed on tables and mixed with these navy bud vases as well. We love these striped shoes and think they would be precious sneaking out from under the hem of a brides dress. These sailor dresses would make adorable bridesmaids dress and we would love to see the gents in these navy and pink striped ties right next to them.  We would use this trio of jars as a simple centerpiece and these anchor wine stoppers would be fabulous favors.

We love love love this ships wheel on this bright pink wall and thinkthis simple white cake with navy waves would look amazing with this as its backdrop. These navy anchor invites are great and the white reverse print looks so crisp and clean. An easy DIY idea for placecards would be to make these origami paper boats from old maps or navigation charts. We couldn’t resist adding another shoe option for the bride or maids which could be these anchor embellished leather flip flops.

A nautical themed wedding needs a sail cloth tent. We would create a lounge area and place these pink and white chevron pillows and these anchor pillows on sofas. We would light pathways with these wire lanterns and create table numbers out of rope.

How have you seen the nautical trend incorporated creatively into events?
