Sweet Southern Sips: Signature Cocktails with a Down South Flair

A great way to relieve pressure from the initial rehearsal dinner bar rush and to make sure guests are immediately greeted with a cold beverage is to serve a signature drink. A signature drink is a fun cocktail that is usually a bride or groom’s favorite – or both!  Here are a few Southern libations to consider serving at your event.

THE CLASSIC MINT JULEP

Ingredients:

• 2 oz. Evan Williams Bourbon
• 1 tsp. sugar
• 1/2 tsp. water
•  2-3 mint sprigs,
• shaved ice

Instructions: Fill 3/4 of cup with shaved ice. Add Evan Williams Bourbon, then sugar solution. Stir gently. Add ice to fill cup. Garnish with mint sprig.

THE AUTHENTIC PAT O’BRIENS HURRICANE

Ingredients & Instructions:

In a 26 oz. Hurricane glass, mix

• 4 oz. of Pat O’Brien’s Hurricane Rum or a good Dark Rum
• 4 oz. of Pat O’Brien’s Hurricane Mix
• Fill with crushed ice
• Garnish with an orange and cherry

THE SCARLETT O’HARA

Ingredients:

• 1¼ c. Southern Comfort®
• 5 c. Cranberry Juice Cocktail
• 1 – 10 oz. Bottle Club Soda
• Juice of One Lime

Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a pitcher/punch bowl and stir. Serve on ice and garnish with lime wheels.

PEACH FIZZ

Ingredients & Instructions:

• One part – Firefly Peach Sweet Tea Vodka
• One part – Ginger Ale
• Ice

Combine ingredients and stir and enjoy.
